Sustainability
Message from the President
Since our founding in 1969, Magnescale has continued to take on the challenge of improving positioning precision in machine tools and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Increasing the precision and accuracy of manufacturing equipment reduces defect rates and improves efficiency, in turn reducing CO2 emissions and helping to realize a green society. The more we provide better products to our customers around the world, the closer we come to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and I feel both joy and a sense of responsibility in the fact that our business activities contribute directly to society.
Our basic approach, as stated in our management philosophy, is to contribute to communities and society as a responsible corporate citizen, conserve environmental resources and protect the global environment, and conduct corporate activities with high ethical standards and in compliance with social norms. As a company that provides the measuring instruments that support the precision of key industries, I believe that fulfilling our responsibilities will lead to a sustainable society as well as the enhancement of corporate value in the medium and long term.

Business continuity policy
We are strongly aware of our social responsibility as a company, and even in the event of difficult circumstances such as a large-scale disaster, we will strive to quickly restore our operations and protect the interests of our stakeholders with regard to the supply of products and provision of services. We will establish, operate, monitor, review, maintain, and continually improve our management system to ensure the continuity of our business.
Business continuity management system certification
In January 2023, we acquired ISO 22301 certification for our business continuity management system to more systematically improve our business continuity. Through the plan–do–check–act (PDCA) cycle and the repeated identification and improvement of risks, we will aim for a stronger business continuity system.
Environment

Aiming for the realization of a sustainable society, we are committed to decarbonization and avoiding the use of hazardous chemicals. In particular, we will accelerate our efforts to achieve carbon neutrality as an issue for our entire supply chain.
Social

We believe that respect and consideration for human rights is a key issue. We comply with the laws of individual countries concerning worker rights and working hours as well as international norms on human rights, including respect for individual human rights; the elimination of child labor and forced labor; and the prohibition of discrimination based on race, gender, language, nationality, religion, physical disability, or creed. We will fulfill our responsibility to promote respect for human rights by addressing the human rights impacts of our business activities.
Governance

We are committed to enhancing corporate governance and strengthening management oversight functions as our most important issue in order to ensure fair and efficient corporate operation as well as to increase management transparency for our business partners, employees, local communities, and society as a whole. We will continue to strive to enhance long-term, stable corporate value and promote business activities rooted in higher corporate ethics.
