On January 8, 2010, our parent company Sony Corporation, Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. and Sony Manufacturing Systems Corporation signed a definitive agreement to transfer the measuring systems (Magnescale, Laserscale and digital gauge) business of SMS to Mori Seiki.
This new entity, Magnescale Co., Ltd. divested from SMS, is a wholly owned and consolidated subsidiary of Mori Seiki. Although, Magnescale Co. Ltd. will engage in the measuring systems business, Sony Manufacturing Systems America, Inc. (SMSA) will continue to handle the measuring products in both sales and technical support.
